The Golden Milk (Turmeric Milk)

The main ingredient of the Golden Milk and the one that gives it a yellow color is Curcumin. Turmeric has been used in Ayurveda for centuries because of its strong antioxidant properties.


Turmeric is known to balance the three Doshas thus is tri-doshic. The hot property of Turmeric balances Vata and Kapha. The dryness and pungent taste balance Kapha, and bitter taste balances Pitta.


Benefits of Turmeric:

  • May promote a healthy response to an allergen.

  • May help purify the blood.

  • May protect against heart disease.

  • May protect against Cancer.

  • May help symptoms of Arthritis.

  • May lower blood sugar levels.

Turmeric Milk Recipe:

  • 1 cup any milk of your choice - cow's milk, almond milk, coconut milk, etc.

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.

  • Sprinkle of black pepper

  • Pinch of grated fresh ginger or dry ginger.

  • Ground cinnamon

  • Honey/Maple syrup or organic sugar (as per taste)

  • Green Cardamom (optional)
